Roam Steady SOS is a safety communication feature designed to help you notify the emergency contacts you choose when you need assistance. When SOS is activated, Roam Steady may send alerts to your saved emergency contacts containing available information such as your name, your SOS request, and location information if location permissions are enabled and available.
Roam Steady does not contact 911, emergency services, law enforcement, search and rescue, medical responders, or any government emergency personnel on your behalf. Your SOS alerts are only sent to the emergency contacts you personally add and approve within the Roam Steady app.
Your saved emergency contacts are not emergency responders. Roam Steady cannot guarantee that your contacts will receive, view, respond to, or act on an SOS alert.
Roam Steady is not a guarantee of safety, rescue, protection, or emergency assistance. The SOS feature is intended to help communicate your situation but should not be relied upon as your only method of obtaining help.
The SOS feature depends on technology that may not always be available or reliable, including: cellular service, WiFi availability, GPS/location permissions, device battery power, phone settings, app permissions, third-party services, and SMS delivery systems. Roam Steady cannot guarantee that messages will be delivered, received, viewed, or acted upon.
If location sharing is enabled, Roam Steady may include available location information in SOS alerts. Location accuracy depends on your device, permissions, connectivity, and available technology. Location information is not guaranteed to be accurate or available.
The user is responsible for: maintaining accurate emergency contact information, granting required app permissions, keeping their device charged, understanding their environment, making appropriate safety decisions, and contacting emergency services directly when available and needed.
Users should avoid intentionally sending false SOS alerts. If an SOS alert is accidentally activated, cancel the alert when safe to do so.
